Why small gifts lose more to the $0.30

A $10 gift: 2.9% is $0.29 + $0.30 = $0.59 (5.9% effective). A $500 gift: $14.50 + $0.30 = $14.80 (2.96% effective). Same formula, worse percent on tiny donations.

Does GoFundMe still take 5%?

Not on US personal/charity campaigns in this model. The old 5% platform fee was dropped. Processing 2.9% + $0.30 still applies per donation. Default $50: fee $1.75, organizer $48.25.

Do tips reduce what I receive?

No. A tip is added on top of the donation for GoFundMe. Organizer net uses only the donation minus processing. The tip card is shown so you can see what the donor paid extra.

How do many donations work?

The $0.30 fixed piece hits every gift. Ten $50 donations cost 10 x $1.75 = $17.50, not 2.9% of $500 plus one $0.30. That is why count is an input.

Is this Kickstarter?

No. Kickstarter still takes 5% of funds raised plus processing per pledge. Use the Kickstarter estimator for all-or-nothing campaigns.
