Average gift drives processing

Fewer larger backers reduce how often $0.20 hits. 20 gifts of $500 on a $10,000 campaign: processing = 20 x ($15 + $0.20) = $304, slightly cheaper than 100 x $3.20.

Why $9,180 on the defaults?

Indiegogo’s own example: $10,000 collected, 100 transactions. Platform $500. Processing $320 (they describe $3.20 average processing: 3% of $100 + $0.20). $10,000 - $500 - $320 = $9,180.

How is this different from Kickstarter?

Both take 5% platform. Kickstarter US processing is 3% + $0.30 per pledge. Indiegogo help lists 3% + $0.20 per transaction. Same $10,000 / 100 gifts: Kickstarter processing $330 versus Indiegogo $320.

What if the campaign does not collect?

Indiegogo help says you pay nothing, including processing, if you do not reach a collectable outcome on that model. Failed mode zeros every card.

Are stretch-pay or Adyen extras included?

No. Post-October 2025 new campaigns onboard with Adyen. If your dashboard shows a different processing pair, paste-equivalent math is: change is not an input yet. Flag: Adyen-only campaigns may differ.
