Placeholder text fills layout before copy exists
Designers need volume to stress-test line height, card grids, and mobile wraps. Lorem ipsum is nonsensical Latin-ish filler so stakeholders focus on structure, not wording.
Pick words for a single headline block, sentences for a product blurb, paragraphs for an article template. Generate, copy, paste into CMS or design tool.
Count invalid below 1 or above 500 shows an alert and disables copy.
Measure filler before swapping real copy
After paste, run the Word & Character Counter to see if the layout still works at production word count.
Normalize casing on headings with the Case Converter when real copy arrives.
QR placeholders on print mockups can use the QR Code Generator with a staging URL.
Regenerate instead of editing gibberish
Manual edits to lorem often create accidental real-looking words. Faster to click Generate again for a fresh block.
For password or token placeholders in dev docs, use the Password Generator instead of lorem words.
Keep one paragraph count per component in a design system doc so engineers know expected DOM height.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What can I generate?
Words (one period-terminated block), sentences (default 5), or paragraphs (blank-line separated). Count range 1 to 500. Default mode: 5 sentences starting with the classic opening line.
Is the text random each click?
Yes. Regenerate shuffles word order into new sentences except the first sentence in words/sentences mode may reuse the standard opener. Paragraph mode builds 3 to 5 sentences each.
Can I use this in client mockups?
Yes for wireframes and Figma blocks. Replace before launch. Search engines should not index lorem ipsum as final copy.
Why does count fail above 500?
Cap prevents browser lag from huge paste buffers. Split large jobs into multiple generations and concatenate.
